Due to its compact size, the new Carbolite MRTF mini rotating tube furnace range is suitable for bench top use. Rotating furnaces offer the benefit of simultaneous heating and mixing of powders or granular products.
The design of the furnace ensures the entire product sample has contact with the gas atmosphere. This is important, for example, for the simulation of large-scale processes on a laboratory scale.
The new MRTF furnaces have a maximum inner diameter of up to 50 mm, a heated length of 400 mm and a maximum continuous operating temperature of 1100 °C (1200 °C maximum furnace temperature). The rotation speed is adjustable from 0-8 rpm. In addition, the furnace can be inclined and so can be made to meet the required sample residence time. Particular attention was paid to safety in the MRTF; the tube rotates only when the guard is closed and the bearings of the tube are cooled by small fans. The MRTF can also be upgraded to a complete system with automatic sample feeding and a collection hopper.
The extensive product range of Carbolite also includes tube furnaces in larger sizes.
